According to the prevailing culture of the old years, earth is seen as a place with unlimited space and resources, where the ever-growing technology, production and consumption are determinants of human welfare. When an area contaminated as a result of human actions are moving elsewhere to try to solve the problem through technology - the potential depletion of natural resources like oil for example we are not worried.
Today, after finding that the above reasoning leads to a dead end is an attempt to establish new rules in order to maintain growth and future life on earth. Sustainable exploitation of natural resources when we are used to measure and eventually despite their use is not reduced or degraded. Instead, where possible through appropriate manipulation improve these resources and can be used by the coming generations.
